GetLadle: the food organiser for people who feed people.

Standard terms for using GetLadle

These terms govern your use of GetLadle. They are meant to be readable and practical, not theatrical. They do not replace legal advice for your specific situation.

Last updated: September 10, 2026.

Who we are and acceptance

GetLadle is operated by GETLADLE Inc., a company incorporated in Canada and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario ("GetLadle", "we", "us"). The GetLadle iOS app is published on the App Store under the developer account of its founder, Jesse Sharratt, on behalf of GETLADLE Inc. By creating an account or using GetLadle you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use GetLadle on behalf of an organisation or group, you represent that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

Eligibility and minimum age

You must be at least 13 years old to use GetLadle, and old enough for consent to these Terms to be valid where you live. If you are under the age of majority in your province, state, or country, you may use GetLadle only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Details you enter about members of your household, including children, are entered by you as the account holder, and you are responsible for having the right to enter them.

What GetLadle is

GetLadle is a food and social coordination product, available on the web and as a mobile app, that helps people save recipes, import them from links, organise them into cookbooks, share them in private circles, coordinate events and potlucks, plan meals, generate shopping lists, and use cooking tools such as cook mode. Features may change, improve, or be removed over time.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep your email address current so we can reach you about your account and the service. You may not share your account, sell it, or let someone else use it. You can enable optional two-factor authentication, which sends a one-time code to your email. Tell us at support@getladle.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You may sign in with an email and password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Sign in with Google; using a social sign-in also means following that provider’s terms.

Your content and the permission you give us

You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, notes, comments, event content, and other material you submit to GetLadle. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, copy, reformat, transmit, and display that content, for the limited purpose of operating, securing, and supporting the service and delivering it to the people you chose to share it with. The sublicence extends only to the providers who host and process the service on our behalf, and to a successor if the business is transferred. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in routine backups until they roll off, and except that we cannot retrieve copies other people already saved or downloaded. We do not claim ownership of your recipes and we do not use your private content to train AI models.

Content you import, and rights you promise you have

GetLadle can import a recipe from a link or a photo you provide. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload, import, and share what you put into GetLadle, and you promise that your content does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights. An imported recipe often includes text, headnotes, and photographs owned by whoever published it. Keep imported material to your own private use or a private circle unless you have permission from the rights holder, keep any attribution the import carries, and do not use GetLadle to republish someone else’s work publicly as your own.

Copyright and takedown

If you believe content on GetLadle infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@getladle.com with a description of the work, a link or enough detail to find the content on GetLadle, your contact information, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate. We will review the notice, remove or restrict content where the claim is substantiated, and let the person who posted it know. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Acceptable use

You may not use GetLadle to break the law, violate someone else’s rights, scrape or abuse the service, circumvent access controls or rate limits, reverse engineer the app, interfere with other users, upload malicious code, misrepresent who you are, or share content that is fraudulent, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour: content you submit must not be objectionable or abusive, we may remove such content at any time, and repeat offenders may be banned. You can report objectionable content or conduct and block other users from within the app, and we review the reports we receive. We may suspend, restrict, or remove accounts that misuse the platform.

Privacy and circles

GetLadle is designed around private sharing, but no internet service can promise absolute security. Use care when sharing personal information in recipes, comments, circles, events, or messages, and when you enter details about other people such as guests and household members. Our data practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

AI features, allergies, and nutrition

Recipe import, meal suggestions, generated images, and nutrition estimates are produced with the help of automated systems, and they can be wrong. Ingredient lists, allergen information, portion sizes, and calorie or macro estimates are best-effort output, not professional dietary or medical advice. Verify anything that affects health, allergies, or food safety against the original source or a qualified professional before you rely on it.

Subscriptions and billing

Some features require a paid plan. Sous Chef and Head Chef are offered as monthly or annual subscriptions, and Feast Mode is a one-time purchase. Purchases made on the web at getladle.com are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe, which handles your payment details; we do not store your full card number. Prices, billing cadence, included features, and applicable taxes are shown at the point of purchase. Unless stated otherwise, a subscription renews automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your account settings, which stops the next renewal and leaves your plan active until the end of the period you already paid for. If we change the price of a plan you hold, we will give you notice before the change takes effect and you can cancel before it applies. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or where we say otherwise in writing.

Purchases made in the mobile app

Subscriptions and Feast Mode bought inside the iOS app are sold through Apple In-App Purchase, and Apple, not GetLadle, is the merchant of record for those transactions. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of that period at the price shown for the plan. You can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renew at any time in Settings on your device, under your Apple Account subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds for In-App Purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies, not by us, and any unused portion of a free period is forfeited when you buy a subscription. If an introductory price, free period, or offer code is available, its terms are shown at the point of purchase and are subject to Apple’s eligibility rules. Feast Mode bought in the app is a one-time purchase tied to the Apple Account that bought it, and you can restore it on another device signed in to that account.

Feast Mode and gifted access

Feast Mode is a one-time purchase that unlocks the features described at the point of purchase for the account that bought it. It is not a subscription and does not renew. We may also grant complimentary or promotional access to a plan for a set period. Complimentary access can be time limited, is not transferable, has no cash value, and can be ended if it was granted in error or obtained through abuse.

Third-party services

GetLadle relies on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, payments, email, text messages, push notifications, recipe import, food data, AI processing, and diagnostics. Their services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for downtime, errors, or changes caused by them. Links and imported pages point to sites we do not control, and we do not endorse their content.

Changes to the service

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, plans, or the service as a whole. If we discontinue a paid feature you are currently paying for, we will give reasonable notice and, where a paid period is unused, a pro-rated refund or credit for purchases we processed ourselves. Refunds for App Store purchases remain with Apple.

Availability and disclaimers

GetLadle is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect recipe import, error-free operation, or that content will always be available or recoverable. You should verify cooking, dietary, and allergy information independently where it matters. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetLadle and its operators, directors, employees, and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption arising from or relating to your use of the service, whether the claim is in contract, tort, or otherwise, and even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in that period or one hundred Canadian dollars. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GetLadle and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of content you submit or import, your use of the service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or of another person’s rights. We may take over the defence of any such claim at our own expense, and you agree to cooperate with it.

Termination

You may stop using GetLadle at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and its associated content from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if continued access would create risk for the service, other users, or our providers, or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, your licence to use the service ends, and the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive, including content permissions already exercised, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law, continue to apply. Terminating your account does not by itself cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in your Apple Account subscription settings.

Apple and the App Store

These Terms are between you and GetLadle, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Your use of the iOS app must comply with the App Store Terms of Service. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app; support requests go to support@getladle.com. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, and to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation. GetLadle, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, a failure to conform to legal requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims, and for handling any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and GetLadle agree that the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the service, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live, or a right you have to bring a claim in the courts of your own place of residence.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and update the date below, and for material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of GetLadle after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and delete your account.

General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and GetLadle about the service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable part is limited to the minimum extent necessary. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
